This two day course continues where Medical Prep 101-201 left off.  Please note, Medical Prep 101 and 201 are MANDATORY PREREQUISITES for this course.  No exception -- period.

First day, we'll be delving into the nature of nutritional deficits and the diseases and conditions they cause.  We'll cover the necessary vitamins, minerals and nutrients to forming a well-rounded food stash.  We'll also cover the symptoms and signs of diseases that surface when there are problems in the food and water supply. A selection of topics include:

  • Life-saving and sustaining vitamins, nutrients, and minerals
  • Food storage evaluation - Where are YOUR food deficits?
  • Macronutrients
  • Intestinal flora and the importance of 'gut bugs'
  • Identification of malnutrition
  • Disease profiles of malnourished people (scurvy, kwashiorkor, etc)
  • Food additives
  • Water purification
  • Water borne diseases

Second day, we'll be covering the 'Old School Diseases' -- the ones you've probably heard 'eradicated.'  Many of the diseases we've heard about in story books will come back in the event of a grid -down disaster.  A sampling of these topics include:

  • Smallpox
  • Typhoid
  • Cholera
  • Dysentery
  • Dengue

We'll also cover ancient and modern herbal remedies for the treatment of disease when there is no medical help or healthcare available.  Utilizing ageless wisdom and joining it with modern science, we'll cover the selection, harvesting, and preparation of herbs in their various forms and also their historic uses for treating disease throughout the centuries.
